<img src="http://www.artspots.com/files/user_pic/file/177/small/nikoocelotartspots.jpg" style="padding:5px;float:left;">Wulffrith- The green, as far as I know, works best with very pale figures. The idea behind it is, pale figures, their blood shows through their skin a lot more because they have very little pigment. Blood, of course, is red, so green is the opposite of red, so when next to each other the light red tone and the green compliment each other in such a way that the lighting looks natural.

For general shadow I tend to use an indigo color, as its sort of a bounce-back color from the blue-ish atmosphere. I hope this answers your question! :)

---------
Art! Whenever I listen to Wagner I always end up busting out into the Bugs Bunny lyrics, which is very annoying for my boyfriend because he plays Wagner for very epic moments, which I of course ruin :)

I've never heard about it before. Does it work well with other colors or just green?

The way Peter Paul Rubens paints his pale figures is he underpaints with green first and then layers light pink tones on top. Here's the green underpainting.

For every $15 you donate you get a little doodle. All but one of these people told me specifically not to draw them anything for their donation but they're just too nice I couldn't just do nothing for them ;___; So I did doodles anyways :3
