Well let's start things off :) This was done for the trading post just this evening.

This was a page out of a commissioned sketchbook for Rackety Raccoon. I somehow like the idea of my character being the dumb mount on some childish adventure.

Another page out of the sketchbook for Rackety Raccoon. I really love the poses. Somehow whenever I see this I always hear the cartoon sound effect of bongos to signify running away XD

Cool! So glad you decided to start a sketchbook yourself. Really enjoy seeing your work. :) Those raccoon ones are entirely adorable!

Your sketches are so awesome!! So full of life and motion, totally diggin' it!! I especially love that last one with "scramble!" and "flee!" describing the motions. Made me giggle. =D

Great hairiness on that minotaur - especially love the way the feet came out. The "children's book" sketches are awesome too. Have you ever done some sort of comic or book with a full story?

Very awesome, fun sketches! I love them and cant wait to see more.

I love the dog and coon ones, in particular! Can't wait for more!

Thank you everyone for your compliments!

Vizon: No I haven't unfortunately. I'd like to, but the writer in me is long dead. I would love to do it if given the opportunity though. I did get approached to do a childrens book about a classroom full of children but it just really wasn't my forte, as I had to draw at least 15 children on each page, complete with backgrounds, for about 20 pages. I like drawing fables though, as that doesn't require me to have to find a writer XD

Okay more sketches! This was the prelim for a project that didn't go very far. I can't speak more about the project, but it was Wizard of Oz themed. My assignment was one of the scenes for the cowardly lion. This one he's in some dungeon type thing looking miserable as ever.

A bit political, but I still had a lot of fun with this one. If you don't know what waterboarding is, I suggest going to Wikipedia. It's not as fun as it sounds.

I'm obsessed with Sleipnir, Odin's 8 legged horse. I have a couple of sketches of Sleipnir in my ArtSpots gallery, but here, have a SleipNiko :)

I got commissioned for a sketchbook where the theme was to draw furry gladiators fighting gryphons. I posted some of the sketches online, but most of them I haven't. Here's some "new" ones.

And again.

Ouch.

Nice perspective on that chain on the other one. Very dynamic.

When I was a kid I drew/wrote books all the time (mostly about animals). And even as a teenager, the first thing I did when I discovered Prismas was create "The All American Animal Alphabet" though actually about 1/3rd of the animals in it weren't American. I haven't created an illustrated "book" since then though...unless you count "fun books" with "draw the other half" and crossword puzzles and such. I might just have to do one again, just to say I did. I guess now I feel more pressure though to make it professional - which is totally not true. It can be as silly and absurd as I want it to be. And as sketchy too. Maybe if I do one, you'll be inspired. All you really need is paper and a stapler. And a pencil.
(Hmm. Maybe I'll scan in the few I've kept...that might be entertaining.)
Ohhh...I've got a great idea!
Mua ha ha!

Yeah, I have to definately agree with Vizon on the perspective of the chain drawing. I also really like the action in the last pic. ^^

Vizon: oooh now you have me curious :3

And thanks everyone. Perspective is /really/ challenging for me, and I admit I hate doing it.

That said, does anyone have any requests or challenges they'd like to see me do?

I'm really into that 8-legged pooch!! It would be really difficult to pull that off convincingly. You did a great job with it.

How about a lady character dancing, from a dramatic angle? Like the "camera" angle a little low and up, and maybe she's twirling/swinging her leg towards the camera, so one leg/foot would be significantly larger than the one in the background. Does that make sense? I'm not good at describing things...

I always thought one of the hardest things to draw was to capture action. And one of the harder perspectives to draw was the straight head-on view. Hard to show depth like that, at least for me. I challenge you then to draw a gryphon, keeping with that theme if you like, charging full tilt straight towards the viewer. ;)

Kooky - Guh. I hate gryphons. That commission was probably the least fun for me to do (even though it had Gladiators! I'm surprised too..) but I will try this.

I'll also try the dancing thing Kynliod suggested but I might get frustrated, fail miserably, and eat my sketchbook. :D

Oh I thought you liked gryphons with all those sketches in there! Hehe. Pick any quadruped you'd like to do then! Doesn't have to be a gryphon. And no eating sketchbooks! Bad!

And you like the whole gladiator thing? Cool. I've tried doing combat-type pictures before but again, that whole capturing action thing gets me. :P
