Karu's Sketchadoodles

Been meaning to make one but never got on with it.

First up is the now shoved aside Art Trade image I'm working on which I screwed up the layers and made far more painful than I liked. The redone version is in the next post.

This is how it currently stands at the moment, I'm working on getting the neck fixed.

And something a little different. These are 15 pages from my doodle pad (Got another bunch I've yet to scan) which I have for writing notes, staving off boredem, writing ideas and yeah. All are done in biro/ballpoint and are on lined paper as people don't question it assuming you're writing notes, plain however they get snarky.

I have no idea why I did zombies on the first one, really. My latest page is covered in moles which some are dancing which is wierd too...

Wow you do know how to fill up a page! Hehe. Great seeing you opening a sketchbook page here though, really like your creations.

Oh making a mess is easy, my notepad IS a giant mess :) I'll try and get another 5 pages scanned tomorrow. Creating stuff is easy for me, making them look more than deformed squigglets is another matter, I'm never happy :)

Right a couple of older dealies I found lurking in the depths of the hardrive... Certainly shows how the hell I start mangling most things :)

So I was rummaging through my Breath of Fire book (Imported awesomeness) and for some reason decided to do an arm claw thing like this. Thus appeared the doodles on the right to see what best this arm would attach to but that wans't the end of this little ramble.

This part hasn't been seen by many people but it's what I did with the arm design. I saw a contest to draw an alien (Never entered, did this for a laugh) and thus this thing was created. No idea what it is but it's cute in a munchie-of-faces way.

Finally for my morning, sketches of one of our cats, the green is still my favourite. - http://karu-dragon.jaxpad.com/image/4214 I'm really gonna have to steal the laptop and follow them round a bit with it and find some scarily old Guinea Pig sketches I did and the lion skull ones...

A sea Dragon concept submitted for approval design wise for somebody else I owe art to. I'm hording these things.

I do admit I make an awful mess while making pictures, lines everywhere until I condense and tidy the blighters up. Thank you :)

This uns actually from today where I decided to draw an Octopus (Never tried before) but it was fun. Cus of what I do at works I'm allowed to net surf and draw when I feel like it as it takes ages for some documents to scan which is great. I got an Octopus pic up but only took few second glances at it between doing work so it's still a bit... artistically liberated I could say.

There are other doodles on this page but editted them out bar SCuba mole as I didn't like them as much and saving them for my next scan batch :)

Erf looking for a bit of a second opinion on this sketch. The beak looks out of joint to me (But am gonna watch some video footage of Toucans to be absolutely sure on that one) and I think I made the back leg overly long which is in turn knocking the mangle I'm making of the backfoot. Might end up doing another Painted Dog study or something (Herb is half Toucan, half Painted Dog according to his owner), certianly need to do a fox one for the other half of this sketch.

Anything else you can spot I've happily mangled I'd be grateeful, still looks much better than how awful the ealier one looks now :)

Got this just now, a very fast very rough sketchy thing when Fluff was itching. Course he walked off seconds later :)

I grinned largely at your toothy slug creature going after the fly in your first doodle page. Don't know why that one entertained me most out of all those doodleys...

Logic left the building in them so maybe it was that :) Thank you.

Scanning more pages of the doodle pad is still on my to do list, grr.

Celty's Shunt done yesterday for silliness sketching, hey it was about 10am my time so was a reasonable hour aha. No ref or anatomy checks, if it looks all right it did it's self somehow.

My arm is killing me but I doodled a slight update for my Pegasus anyway. I love this guy, he's a pain in the ass to draw being a horse but still fun. No real ref, was more noodling than going antomically correct.

Your sketching style is awesome! It really builds the form! =)

Birthday present! She loves this colouring style for some reason, I hate it. Two versions as I'm trying to decide which is better and OpenCanvas won't let me alter it...

Cookie to whoever guesses what Doctor who race this is. My only clue is that they have only been in one episode but will be coming back as peeps loved them so much. I'm not a fan but this is one of her favourites.
