Another Trading Post has come to pass, and another one begins, this time with Boxcutter, having graciously been handed the title by Vizon for the tie in the last round.
Boxcutter has chosen Keyon, a reptillian warrior character! I have included a small image of a few of those he sent me here, but links to them all with his comments should anyone want to do more research! Looks like a character with a lot of potential, if you ask me, lots of range, lots of situations, this one is going to be a lot of fun!

Boxcutter said:
This is my first TP win on Arspots but fourth if you count Yerf. The character I present is the same one I presented on my first Yerf TP win, Keyon. Just like then, I don't have to much to say about him, I'd rather show you and let you decide from there. So I decided to include every single picture of Keyon I posted online since 2000. (I had to visit archive.org because Yerf is down and I don't have the originals or the scans) And every picture drawn of him for Yerf TP#4 back in 2003.

This is the very first post of Keyon. Posted on October 1, 2000. After drawing mostly cat and dog characters this was my first real attempt a drawing a reptile guy. I'd have to say I'm almost embarrassed by it, but still proud of it as a starting point. Also he didn't have a name then.

This is the second picture of Keyon ever posted. This picture pretty much became the template for every sci-fi oriented drawing I've made since 2001

I wanted to do something a bit extravagant with his costume, and with the background. He was named Keyon here.

This is the last,(but not final) drawing of Keyon posted.
Although I'm proud of all of these, pictures because they represent nearly a decade of my art, I'm even much more proud of these pictures:

These pictures not only represent the talent, uniqueness, and dedication of (these, and all 100+ Trading Posts, were usually drawn within 5 days, every week for the past 3 or 4 years) over a dozen of artists, but it represents only a fraction of the community of Yerf. I know that Artspots is Artspots, and I love it for what it is, but I really miss Yerf.
Well, have fun drawing Keyon. I'm looking forward to add to my gallery.

Well, figured it's about time someone posted something for Boxcutter, so I sat down and sculpted this real quick in front of my computer. I may or may not finish it. If I do, it'll probably be a bust. I just got tired of digitally painting stuff since I do it all day at work. Something different at least, eh?

Hi there, everyone. As Yerf was taking its last gasps of life, I had a trading post and Boxcutter made something really nice for me. So I am very happy to emerge from lurk mode and make something for him. In fact, now that I have managed to quit World of Warcrack maybe I will be able to get participatory on a regular basis :)
Very cool character, Boxcutter, I enjoyed drawing him!
Vizon, that sculpture looks great! It's definitely nice to see some variety. I hope that you are able to finish it.

Vizon, I gotta say that it is something different, indeed. Very rare to see a scupture in a Trading Post. I've been trying to make a characters look three dimensional on paper and here's one in real 3D. The like the attention to detail in the skin, incredible!
Arlene, I've never seen Keyon in such a dramatic pose. It's like he should be quoting Shakespeare, or something. And the costume is pretty dead on with is style. Thanks.

Wow, that is an excellent sculpture, Vizon! You might actually have time to paint it if the TP doesn't end this Friday! :) An excellent piece from you too, Arlene! I don't know why you don't have a gallery on ArtSpots.
I may have been absent a little as of late, but traveling being done with, I'm back! And now I'm going to start getting these games going! Got a few more up my sleeve too, but the first task, get the Trading Post back on it's feet.
And Boxcutter, I would agree with you about the Trading Post being more active on Yerf, then again, they were around for what, almost 8 years? Ironically enough, a lot of the artists that drew those pictures... are here on ArtSpots! They just don't partake in the forums. Either busy with art or life I guess. I am open to ideas on how to get things rollicking. LJ and the exchange communities there filled a lot of the void after Yerf went away. Ahh, that gives me an idea... *rubs hands*

Rest be assured I'll do something it's just the getting it in on time :) Last week was a total no go, this week forced rush because of a stupidly tight contest deadline and next week I'm on holiday with little net access :) The good news is I'm being allowed to take my tablet with me so I might be able to *hopefully* upload soemthing, we're coming back on Saturday so.

Well, TC, I'm kind of like that too. I don't draw nearly as much as I used to. Not necessarily because I'm busier, but because I just don't. I try to force myself to draw which is why I do Trading Posts in the first place.
I'm not sure what can be done to make TP more active, myself. Maybe open it up to more people from different art communties. I know Yerf TPs were mostly Yerf artists, but I think anyone could join in. I don't know. It's also a shame that the comic post "Until "sort of died to. I posted the last panel on it, and looking to do another one soon.

Cool Richard! That is definitely one sci fi lizard that I wouldn't want to mess with. I am so glad someone else did something for the trading post. I was beginning to think that I had cursed it or something :) Hope to see more pics here!

Geez, that's hardcore Richard! Intemidating without being aggressive. Makes me want to get up off my butt and draw.

Well I decided since this is my last chance that I'd stay up until I finished this, but it took a little longer than I expected and I have no time to bake and paint it. I will, but probably not before the voting poll is up, so here it is, finished in the raw at least:

Hey...who'd have guessed I'd get this done before the poll went up? Well here he is. Now I can finally stop being tortured by his single staring lizard eye, accusing me silently for leaving him half-finished.

Many, many apologizes everyone! Oh how life can pick you up by the scuff of your shirt and just hold you there, perhaps some shaking too. But now, now the Trading Post is open for voting! Excellent job, Richard, thank you for making the third entry! And wow, Vizon, I was half kidding when I said it might go long enough for your to paint it. I thought you were done at the detail modeling phase. And the vibrant work of Arlene still stands out. Just impressive work all around. Let the voting commence, and we shall know the winner of this TP come Sunday at midnight.

Vizon, most of my entries are usually half finished, but what you have is pretty cool as it is. I can't wait to see who wins this one. I'll try to update my site with these pictures if that's OK with everyone. It'll be my first update in about a year.

Update away, Boxcutter. I also want to say that I am really liking that sculpture, Vizon. I was hoping that you would finish it and it turned out even more awesome looking than I expected.

Thanks guys. Yeah, post away, Boxcutter. I don't know what I'm going to do with it now. I'd be afraid to mail it, and I don't think I could sell it in good conscience since it's not my character. Guess it'll just have to stay on my dresser with the other ones. It was a good exercise and taught me a few things: 1. don't leave any clay on my TV tray because it reacts with the paint and 2. Super sculpey is way softer in the summer.
