I already contacted artspots about it, but wanted to warn the rest of you if you hadn't already gotten some BS note from some f*cker

Wait.. So you received this spam through the ArtSpots messaging system, or through an e-mail?

through the artspots system, which is why I posted it here. The person wants me to e-mail them so they can nab my e-mail addy.

go sign their e-mail address to much spam to be had :D thats what I usually do.

This user has been disabled now, and their messages removed. Thanks for bringing this to our attention. If they somehow persist, let me know.

On the plus side, it means that our site is growing either in size or search results to attract this attention. ;)

that and my user name shows up hardcore in search results :/
