What happened to Yiffit and Furverts?

Anyone know why Yiffit and Furverts has been down for the last several days? Anyone know if they'll be back?

Thats what I'd like to know.

Please correct me if I’m wrong, but do those sites have anything to do with actual Yiff? If they do, please don’t post that kind of thing here, I’m asking as a concerned user of Art Spots. I would like to see the integrity of Art Spots is kept. This is an awesome site with very talented artists, and I’m sure other people don’t need to be reading about Yiff sites in the forums. In my opinion ArtSpots is among (if not the best) site for good, clean anthropomorphic art. All I am saying is that I have good righteous judgment, and I for one, don’t need to hear about sites like Yiffit and Furverts and I am sure others do not need to either. Again, if I am wrong, please correct me, and I will take back what I said about my assumption about the two sites (and the users wanting to know what happend to the sites). (I am making this assumption not only because of the name, but because of research done on wikifur.com about the websites).

I would agree with you if they were describing the attributes of these sites in graphic gross detail, but they are being polite, inquiring about technical difficulties - not trying to start a discussion on yiff or trying to lure people over to these sites.
There is a reason I am on this site - like you I do not like to view that sort of art and I find it offensive that it's out there, but mentioning its existence is not grounds for such a hackle-raising reply me thinks. I say this because I think there are some folks here who actually work on one of those sites, so it is somewhat relevant to those certain individuals. If they were posting "Why is pornograffiti.com and sluttyanonymouschicks.com down?" I might object because I find porn offensive and it has no relation at all to artspots (assuming those are really porn sites, ha ha...). However because they have not actually written anything specifically offensive, I might reserve my "good righteous judgment" for another day when there is really something more objectionable. It may be disappointing to see that some Artspots members are acquainted with these sites, but people cannot all be expected to live up to your own standard (especially outside of the Artspots realm). Unless they get in your face or start polluting Artspots with distasteful art or links or inappropriate language, I would recommend a more gracious attitude.

It's nice to now that Artspots users are full of both good righteous judgment and condescending tolerance.

If there are people on Art Spots that work at the two sites of topic, I apologize. However still… in just my opinion, something like that, could still be kept from public view and be discussed in private messages.
Also, I was not trying to be insulting in any way at all in my previous post, and if I was, for that, I am sorry, and I apologize and hope no harm.

I do not see a problem with this topic, although I think I should step in and clear a few things up.

First of all, yes, we have nothing to do with "yiff" on this site specifically, but I wouldn't deny it exists at all! Like Vizon said, to specifically talk about, well, specifics, that would certainly be off topic and removed with quite a bit of haste. However, the fact of the matter is that we licensed our ArtSpots code to them, and because of that they look a lot alike, and that's why people ask about it here sometimes. I will say that we do not run Yiffit, we only lent them our software engine.

I do not know the specifics, but Yiffit went down because of ISP/hosting issues and they had to change locations. The scuttle is that if they do come back, it will be under a different name with a few things changed. I am not sure if they will be using our code specifically anymore, at least the new stuff we're making. I do hope that fixes some confusion too. :)

Thing of it is, I have a gallery on BOTH sites, thanks. >.>
We weren't asking to talk about the specifics of these sites, just what happened to them. They've had a white page with a load error for some time, and whether you like to think it or not, Yiffits/Furverts is actually CONNECTED to this site. They use the same setup, and they do have many users on both sides of the site.

And from what an Admin told me from that site, they were doin' a server move, but that's about it. And thank you Engelbard, for replying. :)
