All right, here is what happens when I try to enter the ArtSpots chat. I get the following:

Welcome to ArtSpots chat!
Connecting to the chat room, please wait ....
Unable to connect to server.
Connecting to the chat room, please wait ....
Unable to connect to server.

Has happened exactly like that every time I have tried to enter the chat today. Nothing happens after the last "Unable to connect to server."

What client are you using? Chatzilla does that to me sometimes. I'm no irc expert, but I've found using a different client usually fixes such problems, somehow.

I do not use IRC (I do not have it..?) - I access the chat by clicking on 'Chat'. But, how do I discover which client I am using, and how do I switch to a different client in order to fix the problem? (Is it even possible?)

Heh, I'm sure my ignorance is positively glowing at this point. *coughs*

Well, one thing you might check is whether you are getting a pop-up blocked? I am pretty sure when I first accessed the chat, there was a pop-up box asking if I trust the site, the certification has expired or "continue running scripts on this page?" or something like that. I forget. It's been a while.

If you're using the chat client, it's Java so I would check that java is fully up to date. Aside from that, might be an idea to make sure it's not accidentlly been blocked. Firewalls are little swines for popping up and blockings things you don't want them to...

Outside that, not sure I'm afraid :)

Well, Java was fully up to date, and it wasn't blocked.

It is working for me today, fortunately, but I still do not know what was cause was..

If it happens again, I'll still be lost. *facepalms*
