I am not an artist really, but instead am i an quite competent programmer. And i wonder if any more programmers lurk here on Artspots. :3
If you wonder what a programmer would do here is the reason quite simple; I am making a game together with someone here.
Anyway, anyone else have done any programming in some form or another?
C++, Java, Lua-script, Python, etc...

I did C++ when I was in High School. Of course I've forgotten most of it. :) I'm been learning Python very slowly so I can do cool stuff in Blender.

I've got an associates degree in computer science. I've always wanted to be a video game programmer, but all the courses offered by the college and university here weren't geared towards such. I've had classes for basic, C, C++, pascal, assembly, and java, but that was a while ago. I've played around with perl a bit writing CGI scripts, but that was just screwing around and all self taught so was very messy. I want to take some of those specialized online courses actually geared towards video game programming, but alas, I've been slacking the last few years. I occasionally tinker with Java still when inspiration strikes as that was the last language I had training in, plus I love how portable it is. Or visual basic in excell (if you could even count that lol, for some reason it doesn't seem like true programming to me) when we need a specialized application where I work (which has nothing to do with programming :c ).

Myself am self taught :P. I never had anyone say if a thing is "wrong" or "right", it took me THREE years to understand C++. In the three years were i trying many times to learn C++, and i finally learned at the end :3.
All that is needed is a WILL to program :D. There are lots of tutorials and sites dedicated to programming :P. Use them.

I'm majoring in Computer Software Engineering, so you could say I'm something of a programmer, though I'm in the middle of learning C++ at the moment, and have forgotten most of what I learned about java in high school.

I have been a professional software engineer for about four years now. Not really very interested in coding, though, and I would never ever do it unless someone gave me a paycheck :)

I'm not super competent, but I've done some mainframe, php and also website design. Both server and client side.
Was a c programmer for half a year and web programmer for close to 1.
I still like drawing a lot more :)

*cough* I learned how to use the basics of Visual Basic in Info Tech 11.
All I made was a popup box that said 'Hello, World!' Useful stuff! ... :P

just in a dead hobby sense, c++ in highschool as well as visual basic; didn't take it further. php for the most part but didn't do anything ultimately productive and let it die. took a brief look at .lua given that some game engines are taking advantage of it in the modding scene. Also found that using dirty variables in lua leads to strange results where operations can be performed on other variables to the right of an assignment and stored at the same time as storing an unexpected result to the left. That was strange but hammers home the point to be diligent in variable use.
