New Messaging Service

Thanks so much Artspots staff types for the new PM service!

What an awesome feature! I love the cheetah stamp, so cute! (:

This is a great addition, guys! It's cool to see that you all are working so diligently on the site, even if the changes don't all come at once. You said to leave feedback on the service, so I had just one thing I thought I'd mention: The comment messages are a little redundant.
It's nice to know that I have new comments, but I see them on my home page and don't have to click three times to see them (and return to my message box after). Since there's already a simpler way of keeping track of comments (and a link to click to see the actual comment), having the same thing filling my pm box (especially after I've already seen them) seems a little pointless. Not a big deal and not a bug, but it's the only thing that bothered me. And since I see you can sort according to pm/comments/watches/faves, that helps.

Just a convenience/efficiency suggestion. :)

Yes I am quite happy to have a messaging service! This will make commissions here SO MUCH EASIER.

I think having the ability to choose what you do and do not receive a message in your message center for should be an option in your account, so people who still want it can have it.

Just wanna say that I'm really impressed with the PM service. You did an excellent job and I'm actually really impressed on how you organized it too. ^^ Just wanted to give you a thumbs up. You guys are doing a great job.

And Gexzumi and myself are sorry for breaking it the day you put it up :) I love it though! Stylish and workable.

Yay! Thanks for messages!

Thank you, Artspots staff! <3

Hehe, repeatedly breaking it doing the same thing, my mistake :x But I agree, the style of it is just so neat! I really like the avatar stamps and time stamping!

I'm glad everyone likes the messages! There's still a little more that needs to be done, but at least it's kicked out the door and into the wild. :)

That was both a judgement we made on the development/design side, and a smidge incomplete. :) The idea is that you will soon be able to click "reply" on a comment and reply right then and there without having to go to the image, treating it like any other message.

I know there is currently a home-page view for comments, but the design of the site is being re-done, and that may or may not still be there. Or rather, if it remains, chances are it'll be based off the comment messages and not how it's currently done which is just straight links to recent comments. The reason is, as much as I like the efficiency of having comments on the home page, and the ability to reply to them just by browsing, people are accustomed to messages because that's how other art sites handle them, and how every site these days handles communication. I am open to hearing thoughts on how many use the Recent Comments widget on their home page, though.

Yes, thank you artspots staff! As a programmer myself I really appreciate the responsiveness and steady improvements.

Thanks artspots for this beautiful service.
