"Creation Date" change adjustments

I've been updating my gallery with a bunch of older files and have needed to make a change from the original creation date that I put in to reflect the proper date I discovered later. Unfortunately when I attempt to do this I'm greeted with a message saying that I'm not allowed to move the date forward.

Can this be fixed, please?

Sure can. It was originally designed that way to prevent folks from moving the date to today and being constantly on the recents. :) But, I do not see a problem in making the date forward-movable up until last week or such. I can put this into tonight's update.

If you want to email me the group of pictures ( babbage[at]artspots.com ), the titles or copy/paste URLs would work, and the date they should be at, I can correct them all at once and save you the trouble of going into each and editing them. Not sure if you're talking about 3 or 30. :)

Excellent! I'm out of town right now but will return to this once I get back home next week to verify the file(s) that I was going to edit. This is something that should be only a rare occurance but since Artspots by default organizes the directory files according to their "creation date" that some of the dates I'd associated with them put them out of the actual convention period they were drawn during. It's a little personal neatness thing rather than anything truly important but I appreciate being able to make such adjustments. Thanks!

This is finally in place. Images can now be moved forward up to three days ago. Also, gallery descriptions can be 3x longer. If you have a particular batch of images you'd like me to move forward to a specific date, I can do them in bulk. :)

Yes, I'm having a problem here too, even with the 3 day limit. I just uploaded a commission picture yesterday, but the buyer saw it and wanted a minor change done. I made the changes to a pic, and rather than re-upload it I wanted to edit the already uploaded picture. But the only way to do that was to change the creation date to 3 days before the actual creation date. Not only did this move the picture way down on the recents page, but it's simply not true. I would have considered the picture completed yesterday, even though the adjustments were made today, and I wanted to keep the date as Sept. 18 and not have it move up or down on the recents page. =/

If I wanted it moved up, wouldn't I just upload it as a new picture altogether? I mean it seems like there are ways around the 3 day minimum, and if people are going to cheat they're going to find a way to do it. It's just irritating for people who don't want to cheat but need to make edits to a picture, and have to sacrifice their well-earned time on the first recents page to do so.

Just my 2 cents.

You're right, kynliod. I've removed the restriction on moving the creation date forward.
