sketch category and self flagging?

pardon if this already has been suggested.

I like watching sketches and love wips, but feel that presentation is important as well. I was wondering if this would be a happy median.

It would be great if I could self flag sketches and create a category for it along side the existing ones, ie. cartoon, etc. but was wondering if this would be heavy on the programming end.

The goal of this is also allow the end user, like on the campagnon filter, to choose what she/he wants to see.

Actually, this would be super-easy on the programming end. As in, involving no programming at all. :) (The categories were built to be flexible.)

So adding another tab under Recent labeled 'Sketch' wouldn't be that hard. Or were you thinking checkboxes along the top instead of the tabs? Sort of like, "I want to see Anthro, Fantasy, Cartoon and Sketches." Instead of the current model which is "I want to see everything under Anthro. Good. Now I want to see everything under Sketch. Ah, nice." That would require a bit of programming and design work, but I can see the advantages.

It's good to hear that categories would be easy. :) I think a way to format the polished from the non polished should be be done mostly by the end user choosing it and based on the current system than have it designed as a special conditional and design separate of the system. For example the all tab would include sketches, but a non sketch tab would feature those without the sketch flag marked. Somewhat like what the campagnon is except it is an inverse filter. Is this hard?

Also I would like to know if others were interested in this as well.

I'd just like to second this idea. I'm not particular about how it's arranged, but it's a cool idea.

I agree there should be a separation of sketches. Most of the time I don't upload my sketches to the main gallery because I don't want them showing up on the main page along with everyone's finished stuff, but I still want it to be seen/hosted on ArtSpots. I'd like the option of a scraps gallery or something.

You can still mark a gallery as "don't show in recents" so you can have several "scrap" galleries. I just fixed that.

So, this leaves a couple options. People can make a "scraps" gallery, put stuff in there, and won't show up on recents but will on people's favorite lists. Or, instead of/in addition to, we can have a checkbox for "sketch" so that people can brows them in the recents if they want.
