You like giving your two cents when commenting on pictures? Why not earn the same in return? From now (actually yesterday) until October 31st, every comment earns 2¢ towards purchasing anything from the ArtSpots shop. This includes prints and originals from artists, and any other items that may show up.
Oh, yes yes, the obligatory "fine print." We reserve the right to reverse credit from bots, spammers, and other such methods of artificially increasing comment count. Credit is not exchangeable for real money, only for items on artspots.com.

Nice!
Er, how does that work exactly? How does one check their 'balance" I guess?

I point to the top right corner, shows up soon as you comment on some art :)

Would that explain why I got this note at the top of the page? o_O
"Your comment was very similar to your last one" or something like that. I can't say "I love this!" then elaborate on why more then once now? ;p

Sorry about that! Seems the algorithm we used to detect bots needed some tweaking. You should be able to post such comments from now on. :)

It appears that my store credit is stuck at a certain amount, it hasn't increased for the last few comments :/

A bug, and fixed. You should also have a few extra comment credits too to make up for it.

Just want to say, good job on fixing bugs so fast. I had lost my old account info and decided to check it out again... I think I'll be staying. :)

Yeah, its awesome how fast bugs on here are fixed. On other art sites it can take days to fix something.

How very clever....I wouldn't have thought of bribery x3
But hey, if it's working, why not?

Hardly bribery. :) You DO realise that it would take 500 comments in order to get a "free" 6 month subscription to this site? I rather think the competitive nature of the average user is being exploited. I know I certainly like to see those 2cents piling up! On a very basic level, everyone likes getting something for "free". ;)

I remember you mentioning this earlier. I figured you must have started the program, because I actually started getting comments on my art. At first I thought it was really weird that my art had comments, til I remembered you mentioning something about this, and so I came here and saw "Oh, you did start!". Mystery Solved.

I will say that as a fan, this has gotten me to start getting in the habit of commenting on pieces. I've admittedly been really bad about that. And its not even a "must comment to get more free stuff!" More just a reminder to myself to comment more, so I think this to be quite successful. =D

Yes, days. I know there are plenty of bugs on da that they still haven't gotten around to fixing, such as many peoples mood lists do not load. This is a problem that has been going on for a couple of weeks :|

Priorities. Some places have different priorities. This place seems to emphasie priority of their user base. Which is cool. ;)
I'm really liking this penny change commenting bonus. Not that I've gotten much, but it is a nice reminder to try to at least give comments with depth.
I feel bad for leaving simple "I like it" comments knowing I'm getting pennies. ;) hehe.
Look Ma! Its art!
