Congrats to Vizon for winning last round! Here's the description she sent us:
Hey everyone! I thought I'd do something a little
different. Currently my guinea pig, Poke, is
undergoing treatment for a rather painful bladder
infection. She's over five years old and very precious
to me - one of the best guinea pigs I've ever owned.
So I thought it might be nice to have Poke
anthropomorphized. Here is her description:
Poke is very gentle, though bossy towards the rabbit -
unafraid to lift her head at him in defiance though he
is roughly five times her size. She's very tame and
loves to eat (carrots, apples, granola bars, ice
cream, grapes, salad...but not garlic). She's very
affectionate (for a guinea pig) and loves to be
petted, stretching out and cooing any time you run
your fingers down her back (Hmm...not sure how
that'd translate...).
I've only anthropomorphized her once and it's not very
good, so you guys can take this transformation
wherever you like (as long as she's still in
character). The important thing is that you get the
coloration, gender, and species right, heh heh.
So here is a collage of photos for color reference:

Here is the only "anthro" pic I've done of her:

Here is a painting I did of her:

The only other drawings I have of Poke
are...uh...gory. From an avatar war at CG Society
where everyone drew their avatars. My avatar was me
and Poke, so she was my weapon of destruction. Here
are links, but I warn you - they're bloody:

Oh! And some video clips might help (these are old):

Wow, we get to anthropomorphise a PET! Now that will be interesting. Have fun everyone!

Oh god a Guinea Pig. I just HAVE to do this, both of our two had Bladder stones at one point when they were alive so I know how scary it is for them having ops. I'll work this weekend for certain :)

If you all need any more references - like from another angle, just let me know. Thought I'd make two more notes here - Poke has a red gleam to her eyes (though the iris is kind of a gray/green/bluish color), and Bun-bun is much larger now than in that first video clip. Not that you're drawing him, but...just so you know.

You made my mother's morning, it's her B day today and just being able to hear chat again really did her in :) Not heard any really since Goldie died back in 06 (Sister died in 05). I know this was all posted for drawings of Poke but just being able to hear it again is very much appreciated. We miss the heck out of them.
Speaking of which though which I forgot to mention last night, we found whenever they had problems like citius and things, cranberry (As much as they hated it), kale, chopped choy & chickory really helped keep their little systems cleaned out. Not the eaisest thing to track down that said but it certainly eased them a lot whenever they had it as well as helping their teeth.
Watching the vids again gave me an idea though, hm... Not drawn P's in years so looking forward to having a go at this.

Karu - glad I could make your Mum's morning! I will miss Poke terribly when she goes. I've had her ever since I first moved away from home. She's such a very good girl. Never bit me in her life except once by mistake when I was feeding her some cottage cheese with my fingers.

Aw bless, lot luckier than us since Goldie was a nip machine, everything needed to be tasted :) That said, they both knew how to put the cats in their place and they did play with each other (Chat gave it away they were fine with it). Hopefully she'll be fine, it's just unfortante that this sorda problem is so common if female P's. So from this household at least, wish her luck to go back to steaming round like she owns the place asap :)

Kooky--thanks, I appreciate it. =) Colored pencil is an old standby for me, hehe. If I want to feel confident about a drawing, I grab my colored pencils. =P

Hi there! I stumbled across this thread this morning and was touched by your story. I remember a few months back when my dearest rat, Sivet, was diagnosed with cancer. She fought like the trooper she was until the end, discovering along the way that pizza was her one true love, and I had posted a shout out asking for pictures of dumbo rats eating pizza to help me through it. Many artists replied and it's one of the things that helped me get through her last days.
So, I'm honored I can return the favor now by helping give someone else a piece of mind during a difficult time of being a pet Mommy. I deeply, genuinely hope with all my heart things turn out for the best. In the mean time I drew Poke trying to be a painter like her Mommy is.
I'm sorry for any mistake I may have made. I haven't quit slept yet.

Thank you, Farelle. I appreciate your sympathetic words. I hope she makes it through ok also. As it is, she's been on antibiotics for four and a half days...I thought it was supposed to kick in by now, but she's still sounding like she's in pain. I'm afraid it might yet be stones and not just infection (which means she might need an operation like Karu mentioned her piggies had to have) :(
Well it's a two-week treatment, so if she's still having troubles Tuesday of next week I'll have to take her in again.

KoOkY! said: Whew! Finished up tonight. Probably took me longer than should have but was kinda experimenting around as I was moving forwards. Me and my simple silly backgrounds. :P I do like how the fruit came out though. :D Picture of Poke and Bunbun about to enjoy a well-stocked spread. Was shooting for something bit children's bookish but dunno if hit that. Either way, was lotta fun. Hope you like it Vizon!
Wow Kooky! Thanks so much for all your extra effort - it came out so great! And cute! Very accurate and very appropriate as I'm sure if they could, they would have picnics all the time. Though you can be sure there'd be massive piles of that grass served up as well, ha ha! You are awesome, Kook. Thanks a ton. I really do appreciate it. :) :) :)

Yaaay! ^.^ Thanks Vizon, glad you like it! I tried getting more of a texture to the grass and a decent looking cloud and tree bark, but that's just beyond me right now. :P Hehe. Hope Poke and Bunbun are doing well with their respective health issues there.

Background was annoying me so redid it today. Hehe. Added (hopefully) better looking clouds, some texture to the grass and fussed with the tree a bit. Deleted the old post to avoid confusion.
